Our Story

Welcome to Whinray Eco Trust, where we're dedicated to preserving and sharing our rich history of environmental work and community initiatives.

The Whinray Ecological Charitable Trust was formed with the intention of not only restoring our national icon the kiwi, but also to help protect the Whinray Scenic Reserve and conserve other endangered wildlife species living in the area such as the North Island robin, weka, falcon, whio, kaka, rifleman and long tailed bats.

The success of the Trust has been due to a determined and passionate local community and a wide range of volunteers and generous sponsors who have made the project a success.
